About The Open Door Home

Open Door HomeOpen Door Home (ODH) has been a part of the Rome and Northwest Georgia community since its opening in 1927. Throughout the years, ODH has provided a safe, warm and loving environment for the children of our community who have been neglected, abandoned and abused. ODH provides the children with opportunities they might not otherwise have, putting them on a better road for the future.

The Home has succeeded in its mission thanks to the ongoing support and generosity of concerned people in this community.

The Home’s mission is to maintain and operate a charitable and non-profit organization to provide both emergency and extended care to the dependent, neglected or abused children of Rome, Floyd County and throughout the Northwest Georgia area regardless of their race, creed, color or sex who need care outside their natural homes. The objective of the home is to help each child develop to the maximum of his/her ability, to live a healthier, happier and more productive life.
